About This Memory Match Game

Memory Match is a card-flipping game. All cards start face down. You turn over two cards at a time and try to find two that match.

When you find a pair, the cards stay open. Find all the pairs to win.

You can play it free in your browser. There is nothing to download.

Difficulty Levels

4×4 Grid (16 Cards)

This board has 16 cards, which makes 8 pairs. It is a good choice for beginners and for quick rounds.

4×5 Grid (20 Cards)

This board has 20 cards, which makes 10 pairs. There are more cards to remember, so it is harder.

Understanding the Game Screen

Moves

This shows how many turns you have taken. A move is usually one attempt, which means flipping two cards. A lower number is better.

Pairs

This shows how many pairs you have found out of the total. For example, 1 / 8 means you have found one pair out of eight.

Time

The timer shows how long you have been playing. Try to finish faster each round.

Fullscreen Button

The button next to the scoreboard opens fullscreen mode. A bigger board makes the cards easier to see and tap.

Rules of Memory Match

  • You can flip only two cards per turn.
  • Two cards match only if they show the same picture.
  • Matched pairs stay face up.
  • Cards that do not match turn face down again.
  • The game ends when all pairs are found.

How to Get a Better Score

Your score depends on moves and time. Fewer moves and a faster time are both better.

Remember Every Card You See

Even cards that do not match are useful. Remember their picture and their position. You may need them in a later turn.

Use Positions as Memory Anchors

Describe the position in your head. For example: “balloon, row 2, column 1.” This is easier than trying to remember a picture alone.

Start in One Area

Flip cards in one part of the board first, like the top rows. This makes it easier to keep a map in your head.

Use What You Already Know

If you have seen one card of a pair, go find its partner right away. Do not flip random cards when you already know a match.

Avoid Clicking Too Fast

Rushing leads to wasted moves. Slow down, think, then flip.

Beat Your Own Record

Play the same grid size again and try to improve your moves and time.
